The LOX vs Bad Boy
Yonkers trio The LOX saw the glamorous side of the industry when they signed with Bad Boy; appearances on Mariah Carey’s “Honey,” Jennifer Lopez’s “Jenny From The Block” and Diddy’s “It’s All About The Benjamins” made their fallout with the label a hard one. LOX claimed the hip-hop glamour didn’t fit their image, and wanted to sign with “a harder label.” When they couldn’t get out of their contract, they took to a public “Free The LOX” campaign that actually worked, and the group joined Jadakiss with Ruff Ryders. When Diddy later called in to their Hot 97 interview, Styles P told him that security couldn’t keep him from pushing a refrigerator off a building onto Diddy. It seems their beef is squashed, however, as the group said in 2012 that they weren’t opposed to a Bad Boy reunion album.
