The Tribute: "Peace, Adam," by Sasha Frere-Jones
Where You Can Find It: The New Yorker
Why It's Dope: Frere-Jones knew MCA when he was younger and also saw him around his Brooklyn neighborhood during his later years. So, throughout the course of his narrative, he's able to describe the changes he saw in MCA in detail. He also does a nice job of showcasing how the Beastie Boys went from very minor to very major over the span of just a few short years.
