2. DJ Danger Mouse: The Grey Album
When you have approval from both Jay-Z and Paul McCartney, you must be doing something right. Brian Burton (a.k.a. Danger Mouse) expertly and creatively blends together two classics: Jay-Z's 2003 The Black Album and The Beatles' LP The White Album (get it,?). Bringing together a hip-hop icon with perhaps the most renowned band in history is that out-of-the-box thinking that today's EDM and pop-influenced mashups are lacking. Hova's bars in "What More Can I Say" paired with "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" is impeccable, and just one of the 12 well-crafted mixes on the album. In an attempt by EMI (The Beatles' copyright holder) to stop distribution, the album got the recognition and respect it deserved. For his mashup 6th sense, Danger Mouse takes #2.
