Unforgettable: Janelle Monáe's Fave Moments Of The Year
Receiving a tribal name from my Wonder Twin (Erykah Badu) during our spring tour together (She named me “Little Wing,” which happens to be one of my favorite Hendrix songs)
Being personally asked by Prince to perform in the Prince tribute at the BET awards (It’s rare that we truly get to celebrate and honor our heroes while they are still living.)
Meeting André Leon Talley and having the opportunity to do a show at the Ralph Lauren store during Fashion Week (tune in September 10th for the simulcast of the concert!)
Talking with Quincy Jones about the making of Michael Jackson’s Thriller after a show in Montreaux, Switzerland (Prince brought Quincy to the show, and we all had dinner and drinks at Quincy’s restaurant across from the performance hall. All in all, it was an amazing unbelievable night I’ll never forget.)
Getting the opportunity to perform the song “BabopbyeYa” with the Emory Symphony Orchestra (one of my favorite songs from my album, which I will play with a full orchestra on October 16th!)
