V Exclusive! VIBE Interviews The 'Skyfall' Cast

VIBE Pop Culture Posted November 13, 2012
Half a century after James Bond's cinematic debut, "Skyfall" has upped the ante for 007 and co. by breaking the record for the franchise's biggest box-office opening. As we reported, the 23rd film in the series, and third starring Daniel Craig, raked in an estimated $87.8 million, according to Box Office Chart.

Back in October, we were treated to an early-look at 007's most intriguing adventure, and got a chance to chat with the film's stars. VIBE Pop Culture sat down with "Bond Beasts" Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe, baddie Javier Bardem and, of course, 007 himself, Daniel Craig.

The fourth-best opening weekend film of the year (behind only "The Avengers," "The Dark Knight Rises," and "The Hunger Games) is a must-see film for all cinephiles. But before you go running to your local cineplex, be sure to see our chat with the cast of "Skyfall."

"These aren't your average Bond girls." —

The time has finally come to stop calling Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe "Bond girls" and start referring to them as "Bond Women." In "Skyfall," these two devastating dynamos are equal opportunistic in their own ways throughout the film. Without giving too much away, the two beauties share a bit about what went into their roles; give some styling tips and more.

You can see for yourself below:

"Silva stands out as a true original in a pantheon of great Bond villains." —

People expect Bond villains to be somebody who is just a wee bit on the crazy side. Actor Javier Bardem is no stranger to such antics. As Silva, Bardem's flamboyant baddie is certainly a bit out there. He's got an awesome hideout on an abandoned Japanese island full of massive broken statues. He's got bleached eyebrows and hair which certainly caught cinephiles attention. To top things off, instead of stroking cats a la Dr. No, Silva finds stroking James Bond's thighs particularly villainous.

Even though our chat didn't find Javier Bardem in character, the gentile actor did speak on being the spooky villain in "Skyfall," which you can see for yourself below:

"Yes, his eyes are really that blue in person!" —

When Daniel Craig confidently walks up to you and shakes your hand, you may expect him to come equipped with a kung-fu grip. Wearing a perfectly tailored suit with an Omega watch, Craig and his 007 counterpart are eerily similar in ways, and different in others. In the end, there is something so cool about Daniel Craig that you think that he just slipped out of a place where he snapped the neck of a would-be assassin just to meet with you to do an interview.

Our chat with the muscle-bound 007 found him recalling one of our favorite scenes from "Skyfall," his workout regiment and if there will ever be a Black James Bond, which you can watch for yourself below:
