VIBE's Daily Additions to the 'Pod
1. AZEALIA BANKS - "BARELY LEGAL"
Harlem's very own trouble maker revamps The Strokes' "Barely Legal," and she may just have a hit on her hand. The single was produced by Lindberg Palace ,and features Azealia's vocal skills that many of us never knew she had. "Barely Legal" has an upbeat flow to it and most likely can be heard playing in your girlfriend's car to the club.
2. PRO ERA- "MAXWELL"
This DJ Black Diamond-produced record features the late Capital Steez, Dirty Sanchez and Rokamouth of Pro Era rapping about that special lady. The track includes the chorus from Maxwell's "Highest Cost," (hence the song title) and shines a different light on the group's lyrical capabilities.
The homie Cashe has some major pimp skills and is more than happy to share them with you on this track. "PIMP W$RK" is produced by Frank the Butcher and Paul Mighty, and will be featured on their upcoming project, All is Fair due out in April. The track has a smooth vibe to chill out and sip to.
Valentino Khan has been giving us Trap Thursdays for a few weeks now, and this past Thursday wasn't any different. The talented DJ/producer has produced hits for T.I., 2 Chainz, B.o.B. and remixed the entire Watch the Throne album in less then a month. Now he's working on a few tracks of his own to keep listeners on the dance floor. This techno, trap themed single will have you bouncing all over the place.
King Louie has begun his #MarchMadness series with the release of this single featuring Yella. "V12" features the rappers giving us some "graphic" descriptions of their sexual encounters. The track is the first of 31 tracks to be released throughout the month of March from King Louie and his Lawless Inc. crew.
6. Lion Babe - "Treat Me Like Fire (Austin Millz Remix)"
Millz drops a pretty dope remix of NYC duo Lion Babe's latest single. By flipping the track and adding a little trap to it, it reminds us of what the "remix" used to be—it's very own song that stands out from the original.
