V Playlist: M.I.A, Travis Garland, Ricky Blaze x Maino, And More
VIBE's Daily Additions to the 'Pod
1. M.I.A - "Matangi Mix"
Originally created for the Kenzo fashion show in Paris, M.I.A offers up an early preview of her forthcoming album of the same name. "Matangi" is a fusion of her new album formed into one convenient 8-minute block. Pretty dope, if we say so ourselves.
2. Roosh Williams (Feat. Scarface) - "Bets On Me"
Roosh Williams teams up with Scarface for the precursor to his Deja Roo: Times Have Changed mixture, which drops tomorrow. As relatable as the song's message is, it's the production that sells it. Too smooth to skip.
3. Travis Garland - "From Adam"
Starting out like a lullaby, this song quickly progresses into an ode of secret admiration. On a mission to prove he is more than a here today/gone tomorrow artist, Travis Garland offers some solid vocals that earn him a place on the list of R&B newcomers to look out for.
5. Rick Blaze (Feat. Maino) - "Top Shottas"
The line goes: "Brooklyn don't run, we run sh*t"—and thats the exact sentiment captured in this song. Ricky Blaze and Maino fuel their street-cred on this surprisingly sombre track. Brooklyn stand up!
4. Para One (Feat. Cam'ron, Irfane & Tekilatex) - "Every Little Thing (Remix)"
Hip-Hop and electronic music collide as French producer Para One enlists Cam'ron for the remix to "Every Little Thing." This song achieves the difficult feat of grooving like a slow jam, while having the bounce of a party record. Cam is in true form delivering his verse in tricky a cadence - something he has mastered over the years.
6. SpaceGhostPurp - "Throwed"
Need some tunes to go along with that pink stuff in your cup? Then SpaceGhostPup has just what you're looking for. If you're on one or just looking for something to zone out to, throw this track on. You won't regret it.
