VIBE VIXEN's 9 Types of (New) Guys

VIBE VIXEN's 9 Types of (New) Guys

VIBE Vixen Posted December 17, 2012
The little world of dating has become just a bit bigger. The debatably wonderful worlds of social media and pop culture have given us a mixed bag of dudes–much more than just the normal “good” and “bad” guys.

When I ride the subway to work, I see almost any and every kind of guy–from the hipster dude, to the renaissance guy and even the Ted Mosby type (via How I Met Your Mother) but these types have showed us a new side of guys that we’ve never seen. Take a look at the top ten new types of men and figure out who will catch your fancy. –Desire Thompson

1. The Neo Non-Renaissance Man

This “mature” guy is the one who would like to think they’re wise beyond their years. It can be tricky to differentiate between a “mature” guy and a real one, but look for the signs. Does he suggest that Applebees is an upscale restaurant for a date? Next!

2. The Hipster One

The guy wearing the jean jacket with cargo pants isn’t necessarily this dude. The guy constantly talking about his favorite Tribe Called Quest (who he just discovered in 2011) song and balling out at Goodwill is the one you should look out for.

3. The Professional One

The Professional will not only want a stimulating convo with you, but he will never be able to separate business from pleasure. Working together to balance it out will strengthen the relationship.

4. The Sweet One

The Sweet One is the guy that’s already in your life as a friend, ex or a co-worker. He listens to all your pointless banter about work, what you ate for lunch and even helps you prepare for the date you’re going on this weekend.

While the sweet guy can have the potential to become more, you’d rather keep him in the friend zone.

5. The Overly Emotional One

This one can confuse your kindness for a form of affection, and when you don’t give him the attention he craves, he will be very blunt about he feelings in the form of tears or unnecessary arguments.

Now, it’s perfectly fine for a man to be in tune with his emotions, but when you forget to call him one day, he shouldn’t be blasting “The War” and subtweeting you.
