Namor the Sub-Mariner
Background: One of comic book history’s oldest characters also happens to be Marvel’s first mutant. Debuting in 1939, the nasty tempered Namor is the son of a human sea captain and a beautiful princess from the mythical underwater world of Atlantis. Prince Namor, who has super strength (he gets even stronger—Hulk level—when in the water), also has the ability of flight, thanks to some nifty wings on his ankles.
Why It Works: The powerful Sub-Mariner has been both hero and villain, at times teaming up with the Invaders, Avengers, Defenders and Fantastic Four and battling those very same heroes while declaring war against the surface world for what he fervently views as crimes against Atlantis. Judging from the anti-hero success of Riddick, Diesel would knock this one out of the proverbial park.
