Not one Black actor took home a golden statuette at the 2013 Emmy Awards, marking the second year in a row the program has failed to honor both men and women of color in Hollywood.

Prior to the event, ICON MANN celebrated numerous influential Black men in the fields of television, film and media on Friday, September 20, 2013 at The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. The organization held a “Coming To America” inspired dinner sponsored by Target, Morgan Stanley and SAG-AFTRA. Attendees included Wayne Brady (Let’s Make A Deal), Laz Alonso (Jumping The Broom), Richard Roundtree (Being Mary Jane), Blair Underwood (Ironside), David Oyelowo (The Butler), Don Lemon (CNN) and VIBE’s Datwon Thomas.

ICON MANN also announced a philanthropic partnership with Peace4Kids, to develop a scholarship program benefiting young black boys in foster care. They plan to continue the exclusive celebration in coming years. Click through the gallery above to check out more pics from the event!
