What You Didn't Know About Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson's Relationship

Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada and her ex-hubby, Chad Johnson, have had their share of relationship issues. Last month, the newlyweds shocked fans with allegations of Chad physically assaulting Evelyn, stemming from her confronting him on his cheating, surfaced. Evelyn went to the hospital for injuries from that fight. 41 days of marriage led to an immediate divorce and cancellation of the pair’s upcoming VH1 reality show. The two have taken to the media to talk candidly about what really went on. Evelyn sat down with Oprah’s bestie Iyanla on Iyanla, Fix My Life and Chad took to Inside the NFL. Here’s what you missed.

“Not being loved.”

Evelyn on her worst fear during her first sit down with Iyanla.

“I allowed myself to let him behave that way."

Evelyn confessing that she had allowed cheating and abusive behavior from Chad in the past, even before the August assault.

“I accepted, tolerated and accommodated inappropriate behavior from a man.”

Iyanla making Evelyn fess up to what she did. Ev says she did it to keep up appearances.

“This was the deal breaker…because I ended up in the hospital.”

Evelyn , pointing to her forehead, on why she finally left Chad.

“And I lost that. And you know that saying … ‘You never know what you have until it’s gone.’ And now I finally know what they mean. I lost two of the things that really meant the most to me.”

Chad on losing football and the love of his life.

“At what point did you lose focus on what’s most important? Like especially the game of football. At some point I had drifted off track away from that and being one of the best at what I do.”

After the assault, Chad was booted from the Miami Dophins.

“I took full responsibility for everything. Always will. Always have.”

When asked who was to blame, Chad took all responsibility for the breakup of his marriage.
