Who Best Remixed Oscars Performer Norah Jones?

Who Best Remixed Oscars Performer Norah Jones?

VIBE Posted February 24, 2013
In anticipation of her performance at the 2013 Academy Awards, we've compiled a sweet selection of our favorite Norah Jones remixes and samples.
Norah Jones- Take It Back (David Andrew Sitek Remix)
Also a member of the band TV On The Radio, David Andrew Sitek released a full remixed mixtape of Norah's Little Broken Hearts E.P. He strips down the song, replacing Norah's signature piano accompaniment dark beats to transform this song into a slow-burning oceanic trip.

Norah Jones- Miriam (Peter Bjorn and John Remix)
Popular for their hit "Young Folks", Peter Bjorn and John grace this sultry song with their signature retro twist. In typical PB & J fashion they pick up the speed of the track and charge the beat with a heavy guitar and drum kick for some light rockin vibes.

Norah Jones - Chasing Pirates (Santigold & Snotty Remix)
With a looming eeriness, it sounds like Santigold and Snotty recreated this track in a deep, dark forest. A transposition of Jones' voice down a few pitches, plus some deep percussion and synths, make this remix glow with Santigold's Midas touch.

Matt Easton - Don't Know Why (feat. Norah Jones)
In a new twist, rapper Matt Easton took this classic and churned out a hip-hop track, but stayed true to the song's regretful optimism. Innovators like this are who keep this 3-time Grammy Award winning track in our rotation.

Norah Jones- Happy Pills (Max Tannone Remix)
Most popular for his mash-up skills, Max Tannone, formerly known as Minty Fresh Beats, takes Norah's latest single off her Little Broken Heart's E.P. and creates a whole new feel with funky mixture of dub beats with rhythmic calypso undertones. Who needs happy pills with music therapy like this?
