SAM: When you make yourself available for public office, all kinds of attacks come at you. That’s what my first conversation with him was about. Initially, lots of people were questioning why he would want to run and if he was a good candidate.
PRAS MICHEL (Ex-member of the Fugees): I first heard about it in [a] July weekend. I just didn’t quite understand what it was, to be honest with you. I thought it was a rumor or something. Then I realized obviously in August that it was real.
PRAS: To me, it’s common sense. I’ve been to Canada all the time. I have a girlfriend and she owns a home there or I bought her a home there, [but it doesn't] make me a resident. I don’t pay taxes there. I may own a home there, I may own a car, [but] based on that argument… A politician in any country has to have a minimum years of residency. Even America, if I was born here and went to live somewhere else for 30 years and then decided to come back to run for president, they would have a requirement, and if everybody made the requirement, then I would be disqualified or not qualified to run for the presidency.
