A police officer has been suspended indefinitely for pointing an assault rifle at a protester in Ferguson, Mo., Tuesday evening and threatening to kill them, police said.
A spokesman for the St. Louis County police confirmed the suspension of the police officer who name was not revealed. The incident took place during protests over the police shooting of unarmed 18-year-old Mike Brown.
The spokesman went onto say that the officer worked with St. Ann Police Department and pointed a semi-automatic assault rifle at a peaceful protester "after a verbal exchange," NBC News reports
St. Ann police is one of many neighboring departments sent out to help keep calm during the protests.
