Azealia Banks Accuses Iggy Azalea of Being Racist
Don’t be fooled by the cute and eccentric appearance of Azealia Banks—she’s armed with opinions and she’s not afraid to share them.
If anyone is still left wondering whether Banks approves of recent Australian female rapper Iggy Azalea, the answer is no. Banks brought the beef to Twitter when she commented on the release of the XXL Freshmen Class list.
“Iggy Azalea on the XXL freshman list is all wrong,” she tweeted. “How can you endorse a white woman who called herself a “runaway slave master”?”
But the “212” rapper didn’t stop there. After tossing some tweets out about her shopping experience in Paris, she returned to the heated subject at hand.
“Sorry guys. But I’m pro black girl,” she wrote. “I’m not anti white girl, but I’m also not here for any1 outside of my culture trying to trivialize very serious aspects of it. In any capacity. *kanye shrug*”
While it may look like there is some heavy hostility between these two female artists, Iggy Azalea says she has no problem with Banks.
“I have no deal with her,” she told VIBE.com. “I don’t know her personally. I said it about Kreayshawn, too. If I don’t know you personally, how could I have a problem with you? What would I have a problem about?”
