New Videos: Showbiz, Statik Selektah & Termanology and Damani

Datwon Thomas / April 27, 2012

Showbiz of Showbiz & AG fame has just released an instrumental album worthy of the praise that his background as a top beatsmith in the 90s era hip-hop scene deserves. Finally emerging from a long hiatus, this cornerstone member of the street beat collective, Diggin’ In The Crates (D.I.T.C), gives us enough boom bap type sound forms to break your neck off. The accompanying visual for the smooth melody, yet hard drum single, “The Cloth”, is a quick montage of Show and his D.I.T.C. fam from back in the days to now. While no raps are laid to the track, these pictures and meaningful moments speak a thousand words.

Pick up Showbiz’s Instrumentals Vol. 1 on Itunes now and be on the look out for his new album with partner AG titled Mugshot Music later this summer. In the meantime, the duo’s EP “Pre-Loaded” is dropping on May 8th for you to rock.

1982 is a duo comprised of DJ/Producer Statik Selektah and ill rapper, Termanology. Judging from their frequent work together, the two hip-hop fiends have a very DJ Premier/Guru chemistry going on. With three projects deep in the partnership, their newest endeavor titled, 2012, expresses the growth and trust the team has developed in one another. The Rik Cordero directed video for the single “Up Every Night” is fun and flavorful with a dash of freaky (you see that chick singing and tell us otherwise…).

Cop the single now at iTunes and support 1982 on May 22nd when the full album drops.

Now you may remember Damani’s face from the days of his membership in Snoop Dogg’s Dubb Union crew. Back in 2008, Damani fit into the role as team player in the California based trio self titled debut album. Fast forward to present day and we see that Damani is still rocking rhymes, but this time as a soloist. The man holds his own with this hyper paced track and incredibly edited and graphic video, directed by Joe Dietsch.

Purchase the single “Everybody C’mon” featuring Brevi at iTunes.
