BREAKING: T.I. Will Not Be Released From Prison Tomorrow

Tray Hova / August 30, 2011

Looks like we’ll have to wait a couple weeks longer before the king leaves his cell. Yesterday, reports popped up counting down T.I.‘s release from Arkansas’ Forrest City Federal Prisons for Wednesday August 31. But according to Tip’s chief attorney, Jonathan Leonard, his client will not be waving to the public at any point tomorrow.

Leonard—who’s repped Tip since 2002—says T.I. will be released on Thursday, Septermber 29 as originally calendared. Yet for all those can’t wait the extra weeks, there may still be hope for an earlier exit.

“The Bureau of Prisons they won’t give you the information [of his release] until the very last minute,” Leonard told XXL. “The Bureau of Prisons makes all the decisions once [someone goes] into the federal system then the federal prisons is the governing body as to when he’s released, the judge has no control over it,” he explained.

“And you don’t have any real contact with them, they don’t communicate with you and they don’t tell you when exactly he’s gonna be released. They don’t even cooperate with me and tell me much of anything,” he added.

According to Leonard, “Tip is doing great and certainly looking forward to getting this behind him.”

And we’re looking forward to the music in front of him.
