If the MTV Video Music Awards is a central hub for unsigned hype, trashy TV casts, select has beens and A-list narcassists to bask in their relativity, where in the world was Keyshia Cole last night? According to her Twitter account (@keyshiacole), chilling in the uninvited seat.

After a fan tweeted Cole asking if she was at the 2010 ceremony, the platinum-selling singer responded: “….. MTV TOLD ME IM NOT A …….. MTV ARTIST…. SOOOOO.” Another fan quickly followed up by asking Cole for an explanation of what an “MTV artist” is. “idk they’re perception of who [I] am,” she says. “i haven’t crossed over yet…. i only sell 1.5 every album.. thats only 5 mill. in 5 years.”

No word yet from MTV if Cole was indeed purposely snubbed.

Cole performed at this year’s BET Awards alongside Eminem and B.o.B. On March 4 the 29-year-old singer gave birth to her first child with Cleveland Cavaliers player, Daniel Gibson.
