Rostrum Records’ Mac Miller is set to make history next week with his debut Blue Slide Park, as the first number one album independently-distributed since Snoop Dogg’s Dogg Food in 1995.

According to Billboard.com, industry sources say the album is set to sell 180,000 copies and possibly more by Nov.13.

Miller’s album is being distributed by INgrooves and Fotana Records.

Unlike previous number one rap albums released this year including Watch The Throne, Tha Carter IV, and J. Cole’s Cole World, Mac Miller’s album was not backed by huge singles and promotion.

Up until his official debut, Miller has released five mixtapes including Best Day Ever (2011) featuring the song “Donald Trump,” which was his first song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and peaked at the number 80 position.

Currently, the Pittsburgh-native is currently on a national promotional tour for The Blue Side. –Natelege Whaley
