T.I. Releases New Verse, Plans First Annual ‘A King of Oneself’ Brunch

The wait is finally over. Atlanta’s newly freed T.I. has released his first post prison verse, since being released to a halfway house earlier this month. Setting off the remix to Future’s latest single “Magic,” the Kang picks up right where he left off.

In related news, T.I. and New York Knicks all-star Amar’e Stoudemire are teaming up to host the first annual “A King of Oneself” brunch celebrating men’s lifestyle, fashion and hip-hop.

The Grammy-award winning artist will be shining the spotlight on his clothing line AKOO, a contemporary brand for men with versatile lifestyles. Supporters from music, sports and the entertainment industry include Rick Ross, Big Sean, Diddy, Curtis Granderson and even Larry King.

The exclusive brunch will take place at a private location in Atlanta. on Oct. 2 during BET’s Hip Hop Awards weekend. Only 150 family members, close friends and celebrity guests were invited.

“We’re gathering our family and friends during BET’s Hip Hop Awards weekend to show love and appreciation to T.I. as he celebrates his 30th birthday, his new book Power & Beauty, and the growth of the AKOO Brand,” states Jason Geter, Co-founder of AKOO Clothing and CEO of Grand Hustle Records.

Those in attendance will also be given a special sneak peek screening of the “Salute The King” fan-based documentary. Director of Marketing for AKOO Clothing Jeff Belizaire said that T.I. fans from all over the world submitted videos for the project and are excited to see big things happen from him in the future.–Adelle Platon
