Okay, okay. So, the headline of this piece might be a little misleading. You see, we've done a few of these "Guess Who's Back!" posts now—one on Nas, one on 50 Cent, and, most recently, one on Kanye West—and, in all three of those cases, the artists who we were covering were "back" in the sense that they were making music again after taking a brief time-out from the rap game. So, to keep things consistent, we're running with that headline here. But, make no mistake about it: Rick Ross hasn't gone anywhere in 2012. Just like he has for the last few years, Ross has continued to put out a continuous stream of music and been a model of consistency for his Maybach Music Group team.
However, most of the music he's put out so far this year has either been mixtape material or stuff that he's recorded for other artists. Until now. On Monday, he released the Usher-assisted track "Touch 'N You," the first single from his fifth solo album, God Forgives, I Don't. And, after a few delays, we now know that we can expect GFID to hit stores on July 31. So while Ross isn't technically "back" from anywhere, he is back to promoting his next project with an official first single. So, we thought: What better time to rank all of the first singles from Rozay's various projects like we've done for other artists in the past? With that in mind, peep how VIBE Ranks All of Rick Ross' First Singles. From the good to the bad to the ugly, this is how we think Ross' first singles stack up to one another.—Chris Yuscavage
