Entries will be judged on the following:

alidate your entry. The cover sheet of your entry should include your full name, age, address, school, grade level, and phone number. Please include other contact information such as your cell phone number or email address. The winners will be contacted by November 15th.

ntroduce the book to your reader. Who is the author? What is the setting? What is the time period? Is the book fiction or non-fiction? What is the genre of the book? Is the book an adventure, mystery, science-fiction, fantasy, urban fiction, romance or graphic novel?

riefly discuss the plot or subject matter. What will entice and excite others to read and enjoy the book as much as you have?

nd your essay by explaining the impact this book had on you. Did it alter or affirm your way of thinking? Did the book broaden your perspective? Did the book change the way you feel about reading?

Submissions are currently being taken via the DC Public Libraries until 10/31/08. This contest is open to DC residents and surrounding counties.
