Why Does Walmart Want to Exile Pitbull to Alaska?

Miami rapper Pitbull usually likes it where it's hot and sandy, and never shady, but Walmart could have him partying it up on Kodiak, an Alaskan island.

Pitbull has agreed to visit the remote Walmart location in the city of Kodiak, if thw store’s Facebook page has the most “likes.”

A writer for The Boston Phoenix newspaper conjured up the hilarious idea and set up the contest for all Walmart locations. Currently, the Kodiak store is in the lead with 38,000 “likes” on its Facebook page.

“I know Pitbull is hoping his Miami Walmart shoppers start ‘liking’ their Facebook page,” said Walmart spokeswoman Sarah Spencer. “He’s definitely coming to Kodiak if Kodiak wins,” she said.

Alaskan fans have even started a #ExilePitbull hashtag on Twitter, which has definitely caught the rapper's attention.

“Wherever the fans want to have a party, I will be there,” he said in an emailed statement sent Monday from Austria.
