Diddy Wouldn't Mind Being An Opening Act

Followers of Diddy's Twitter page know that he loves turkey sandwiches. But after premiering the first video from his group, Dirty Money's "Angels" on BET's 106 & Park, it seems that he's been snacking on humble pie.

Prepping for the release of the group's debut album Last Train to Paris, the man that sold out arenas with hip-hop's shiniest spectacle, the No Way Out tour just over a decade ago, said that he wouldn't mind performing at smaller spots or even opening for another artist.

"This time it's a different approach," Diddy told VIBE of his touring plans for Dirty Money alongside his band mates Dawn and Kalenna. "We're more open to going into intimate venues. We're more open to go out with people we [usually] wouldn't go out with to touch different crowds. And we really don't care about headlining. Somebody else can headline and we'll go on before them. We just want to entertain the people and have them see us and hear us. Because, at the end of the day, I started the stadium tours, so I don't have anything to prove from that angle."

Puff says his modest forecast comes from a long, well-accomplished career. Responsible for the careers of The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige and hits with everyone from Sting to Keyshia Cole, he's just happy that he can still turn on the radio and hear his songs.

"After you've done all the bragging and all the competing, then you get left with a beautiful gift, a chance to just entertain and be an artist. I would love for other artists to be able to experience what I'm experiencing now. I'm in no competition with Jay-Z, Kanye or Drake. I'm just here, in this little lane, doing what we're doing."

Aside all the unassuming talk, Dirty Money's front man is confident about how their album, 80 percent complete, is coming along. But there is one problem, he joked.

"We have about 55 joints recorded," Diddy revealed. "And all 55 of those are crazy. [Laughs] But we want to make sure we bring it down to the right 12 to 14 [songs]. You don't want to overdo it."

Nothing is definite yet, but he did say that Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Drake and Jay Electronica reached out with contributions to the set. What's for sure is that we can expect a new video for his upcoming single, "Someone to Love," soon. It's was shot a few weeks ago by director and photographer Nabil Elderkin, who also directed Kanye West's "Paranoid" and "Welcome to Heartbreak" visuals earlier this year, and more recently photographed Kanye's Glow In The Dark tour book, which hit stores today (October 20).

"Nabil is one of the creative geniuses that we're calling out right now," Puff said, adding that he's also worked with Hype Williams and [photographer] Terry Richardson, among lesser-known directors. "We're shooting a lot of videos on this project. He was great to work with. It was probably the first video where I didn't really know what was going on. I just showed up to the set and it worked right." -Brad Wete

Dirty Money's Last Train to Paris pulls in to a store near you early 2010. Stay tuned to VIBE.com for exclusive sitdowns with Diddy, Dawn and Kaleena.

Rich The Kid Introduces His New Group, 83 Babies With "No Cap" Video

Back in 2013, Coach K of Quality Control brought a buzzin' rap trio through to the VIBE offices. Migos' "Fight Night" was a club hit and "Versace" with Drake was ruling the game. He announced Quavo and Takeoff, but the third member looked different from the pics we saw previously. "This is Rich The Kid," he stated calmly. "He's rolls with us." Rich wasn't known heavily at that point, but what we determined by his easy going nature and ability to network was this kid is a star, or soon will be.

The smartest thing about that whole scene was how Coach K did a great press run for the Migos as a trio, even with Offset locked up at the time. Having Rich The Kid roll with them accomplished the mission of keeping the Migos' look as a trio annnnd establishing another new artist at the same time. As the relationship didn't materialize as Rich being on Quality Control, it provided the youngin' valuable knowledge on the game and how to do roll outs and such. Thus, Rich The Kid's own Rich Forever Music label being born a few years ago. With enormous success on his own with hits and tours under his belt, the New York native turned Georgia repper started signing up talent. Most notable acts Famous Dex and Jay Critch signed with Rich bolstering his start up company (established in 2016) to fast recognition.

Now in the same way that Rich was introduced to VIBE, 83 Babies are following suit. A few months ago the North Carolina trio, with strikingly similar sounds to Migos', came through the office with a visiting Rich The Kid, who was playing our team some of his unreleased album cuts. We got a chance to kick it with Lil Tony, Set It Off and Young Boss Tevo for a sec. With their minds taking in the atmosphere, we learned that they were in a tug-of-war state as various labels were vying for their talent. Judging from the Rich announcement of 83 Babies being signed to Rich Forever Music this past March, the fellas made their choice.

With co-signs from the Migos and many others, 83 Babies have a clear shot at success. The trap rap "No Cap" single and video finds the group stating just who they are in their music, real dudes that happen to rhyme. Slated to open up on Rich The Kid's "The World Is Yours 2" tour, the three MCs will learn about traveling the country for fans that have never seen you up close. We are sure they are more than ready.

Mrs. M Releases Video For First Ever English Track "Tasty," From VIBE's 'Urban Asia Vol. 2'

Mongolian MC Mrs. M has just released the video for "Tasty," her first-ever song in the English language, and she's making it count.

"Tasty," which is produced by Silverstrike and mixed by Pro Era's Nastee, shows Mrs. M living lavishly with furs, chains, champagne, fast cars, and rooftop shots with a beautiful Mongolian skyline as the backdrop. The video is a perfect match for Mrs. M's confident, melodic bars. The song is the latest single from Urban Asia Vol. 2, the second installment of a series of Asian hip-hop compilations released in a partnership between VIBE and the Hong Kong-based label B2 Music.

“I’m so excited to release my first English single 'Tasty' and to work with Nastee from Brooklyn’s Pro Era, and Silverstrike in Hong Kong. Growing up listening to Hip-Hop and R&B music in Mongolia we never dreamed of such things," Mrs. M said with excitement in an interview with CelebMix. "I sang and rapped in Mongolian because we are a small country, and I didn’t think we can go past that. We just make this music for ourselves. We only watch U.S. artists on YouTube and follow the new sounds, and never think we can be connected to places like Brooklyn. I really love the internet because it connected me to all of this.”

Urban Asia Vol. 1, the first compilation from VIBE and B2, was released in May 2018, and has songs by Edison Chen, MC Yan, Thaitanium, Bohan Phoenix, the Higher Brothers and Jackson Wang.

DJ Khaled And SZA Become Warriors In His "Just Us" Video

Today (May 17) is clearly DJ Khaled's day and he's got a lot to share with the world. Not only did his new album Father of Asahd drop today—once again executive produced by his son, Asahd—but the producer, rapper and hype man turned the release into a surround-sound affair.

In the midst of heading to MTV to share gems about the making of the album, he also spent the day releasing multiple videos. In addition to releasing visuals for "Higher" (Nipsey Hussle's last video appearance) and "Celebrate," featuring Post Malone and Travis Scott, Khaled also shared the flick for "Just Us," featuring SZA.

In the elaborate Joseph Kahn-directed and Dave Kemp-produced video, SZA and Khaled assume the roles of gladiators over a beat that samples OutKast's heralded "Miss Jackson." Upon release, SZA expressed her gratitude for being part of the project.
