50 Cent Signs on for Movie Producion Deal

50 Cent has signed on with entrepreneur Richard Jackson to create three to five films a year, starting with a movie starring Val Kilmer.

According to Variety, cinema company Cheetah Vision Films, of which 50 is a partner, has formed an alliance with Action Jackson Films’ founder Richard Jackson (no relation to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson), in a yearly multi-film deal. 50 and Jackson reportedly met one another during a card game in Las Vegas.

The first film Jackson will finance is tentatively titled The Gun and besides Kilmer’s high-profile presence and a co-starring role played by 50 himself, veteran music video director Jesse Terro has been tapped to direct.

The movie’s plot centers around 50 and Kilmer’s friendship being put at stake because of a lifestyle that involves illegal gun dealing. The film will be executive produced by Chris Lighty, Justin Holochek and Richard Rhionda.

Last Thursday, the rapper unveiled his 90-minute film, Before I Self Destruct, at the AMC Loews Kips Bay 15 theater in Manhattan. He is currently promoting the album, of the same title, which was released Monday. –Linda Hobbs
