The Goods: Fontainebleau Hotel In Miami To Host ESPN Super Bowl Party

In the March 2009 issue of VIBE, we told you the Fontainebleau Hotel was the place to be in Miami. And, from the looks of things, it continues to be even better than we expected. Fresh off a New Year’s Eve bash that included a concert performance from Lady Gaga and appearances from Chris Brown and, of course, Bow Wow, the Fontainebleau is now ready to play host to ESPN’s sixth annual NEXT Event on Feb. 5 to help kick off Super Bowl weekend. Outside of the Fontainebleau’s 1,504 guest rooms (each equipped with an iMac computer), 40,000-square-foot spa and the lobby’s legendary “Stairway To Nowhere” that are all compliments of the $1 billion renovation the hotel finished in 2008, ESPN is also planning to put up a 25,000-square foot clear tent outside the hotel to accommodate guests. Keri Hilson and Ne-Yo are booked to perform, and Q-Tip is slated to DJ the event (guess someone at ESPN is a fan of Santos?!). But unless you routinely wear your last name on the back of a jersey, good luck snagging a pair of tix to this. ––Chris Yuscavage
