Lil Wayne Talks ‘We Are The World,’ New Orleans

In a moment that would probably make Kanye West happy, Lil Wayne ruffled feathers during a recent recording session while being interviewed by reporters.

Recently the rapper was tapped for a Haiti “We Are the World” charity recording, which includes Brian Wilson, Celine Dion, Usher, Snoop Dogg, and the aforementioned Kanye, among others. During a studio session in Hollywood, Weezy spoke to reporters about the earthquake devastation and the hurricane devastation several years ago in his hometown of New Orleans. But what he said was nothing less than political.

“I think it’s amazing what’s been done for Haiti. But I also think it’s amazing what hasn’t been done for New Orleans” he deadpanned, without taking any more questions.

Weezy was given Bob Dylan’s part from the original version of the legendary song, which was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. The new version of the song is scheduled to debut February 12. –Linda Hobbs
