Lil Wayne Courthouse Fire Not A Conspiracy

While some fans joked that the courthouse fire that postponed Lil Wayne’s sentencing on Tuesday (March 2) was somehow intentional, officials have put that theory to rest.

The incident was the result of an electrical problem in the basement, the New York Daily News reports.

As previously reported, Lil Wayne’s sentencing has now been rescheduled for this coming Monday, and the rapper is expected to begin his one-year jail term immediately after sentencing.

The courthouse fire prompted several cases to be moved across the street and others to Midtown Community Court. Because there wasn’t space in the smaller court facility across to where Wayne’s sentence was scheduled to happen, the rapper’s case was cancelled, leading fans to spend Tuesday tweeting about the rapper’s fortunate luck.

A month ago, Wayne’s trial was postponed due to dental surgery. Prior to the fire, he tweeted a message to fans: “Yesterday i smiled, today i smirked, tomorrow i stop. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, they’re needed. The F is for family, friends, and fans……….thank u………..your love and prayers are felt. They kant lok up my heart bekuz y’all already have it on lok. ……thank u.”
