Nicki Minaj Leaves Rihanna Hanging

Girl power received a jezebel upgrade yesterday, when Rihanna announced that she would be heading the Last Girl On Earth tour this summer with Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj. But within 48 hours, Minaj has already publicized that she’s pulling out from the gig.

Minaj took to her Twitter account (@NickiMinaj) to share the disappointing news with fans. “Barbz I’m sorry 2 say I will not be going out on RiRi’s tour. I’ve decided 2 use that time 4 the completion of my album.”

Minaj, who recently premiered the video for her first single, “Massive Attack,” expressed to MTV News in February the importance of taking her time to record her as-yet-untitled debut. Tickets for the Last Girl on Earth tour go on sale at Live Nation this Friday, April 9. There’s no word yet on whether another female artist is slated to replace Minaj. —Tracy Garraud
