The Result: “Over and Over,” from Nelly’s 2004 album, Suit
The FAIL Scale: 6 FAILS out of 10. “Country grammar,” for real. Country music collided with hip-hop on this slow-tempo joint about—what else?—love. It did well for Nelly and McGraw and surely opened both names up to new audiences, but it also served as the ultimate sell-out move for the St. Louis rapper. And his career hasn’t been the same since then.
