James Franco In Talks To Direct Two Movies Based On Classic American Novels

2011 is already shaping up to be a busy year for James Franco aka one of VIBE Vixen’s crushes. The soon-to-be Oscar host is in talks to take on two directorial projects. One is a film adaptation of William Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying, for Fox Searchlight, and the other is Cormac McCarthy’s Western novel Blood Meridian.  Both films would be based on scripts that Franco wrote.

He has some directing experience, having just finished shooting The Broken Tower, about the poet Hart Crane but taking on what many people consider some of the greatest novels of the twentieth century is ambitious.

We think he’ll be fine given his ambition and flexability.

Do you think he’ll act in them too? [Via Vulture]
