Adele, Katy Perry Lead Nods For 2011 MTV VMAs, Nicki Minaj & Kreayshawn Solidify Spots
Adele and Katy Perry are battling for the "best video of all time" as Mr. West would put it. The two singers, who are each soulful in their own right, are leading the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards in nominations.
While Adele is having an incredible year since the release of her sophomore album 21, she's managed to pick up seven nods for her inspiring and infectious "Rolling In The Deep." That one video has placed her in top categories including "Video of the Year," "Best Female Video" and "Best Cinematography."
Katy Perry comes out a bit ahead of the soulful Brit with nine nominations including "Video of the Year" as well. Hip-hop newbie and controversial white girl Kreayshawn gets her first taste of VMA fame with a spot on the "Best New Artist" nominee list for her viral vid "Gucci Gucci," while seasoned raptress Nicki Minaj makes an appearance most importantly as a contender for Best Hip Hop Video against Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now" and Ye's "All Of The Lights."
The ladies are in the lead, and Vixens are proud to rock with the nominees! (And we're anxious to see what they're going to wear!)
The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28, at 9 p.m. Voting is now open to the public, so click away!
