Bishop Eddie Long Update: Fox 5’s I-Team Uncovers 5th Accuser In Sex Scandal
After a seven week long investigation, Fox 5 Atlanta’s I-Team has uncovered additional details surrounding Bishop Eddie Long’s Sex Scandal case.
Prior to reaching an undisclosed settlement agreement with his four accusers; it would seem that Eddie Long’s sexual abuse case would soon be “swept under the rug,” especially after publically addressing his New Birth congregation—in September 2010—of the falsities behind the accusations from these four young men:
“I am not the man that has been portrayed on television,” he said. “I’ve been accused, I’m under attack… I want you to know, as I said earlier, that I am not a perfect man. But this thing, I’m going to fight. I feel like David against Goliath, but I’ve got five rocks and I haven’t thrown one yet.”
However, these high expectations for a quiet settlement proved invalid, as a fifth unidentified man—who some would call a “scorned lover”—stepped forward to surprisingly enough NOT file a lawsuit, but became heavily indulged in the settlement talks and was seen as the spotlight of negotiations for the mediation because he was “different from the other young men…one piece of the puzzle that never fit,” according to one of the lawyers working the case.
Fox 5’s Dale Russell reports that this “unidentified man” is a 22-year-old aspiring entertainer named Centino Kemp from Bahamas. It is unclear when exactly their relationship started, however Centino met Eddie years ago when he was college student in Florida and he visited the New Birth Church for the first time. Even more devastating, Centino even has Bishop’s name tattooed on his wrist. Underneath the name Eddie Long, the phrase reads, “Never a mistake, Always a lesson.”
Although the case was settled back in May, Fox 5 was able to receive reliable information about Centino’s whereabouts. As previously settled stated, Centino being an aspiring artist, it is no surprise Fox 5 was able to catch up with him while leaving a recording studio that is reported to cost $100 per hour. It seemed Centino was very comfortable and quite happy discussing his music, however when asked questions about Eddie Long, he clearly wanted no parts of that interview as he retreated to a nearby awaiting stretch limo.
It is speculated that because Centino is open about his sexual orientation and in support of the gay community, Centino was the key to the success of the case settlement. #Winning
