Amy Winehouse's Family Members Release Statement To Public
Though it’s only been a couple of days since Amy Winehouse’s sudden passing. The young starlet’s sudden death still remains an open wound on the world of music. Today, family members of Amy, who include her father, Mitch, her mother Janis and older Brother, Alex released a statement to the public via US Weekly, regarding the passing of their 27 year old daughter.
"Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives," the Winehouse family stated. "We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time."
Amy’s mother Janis recalled the last words her daughter said to her, upon their visit the day before her death: “I Love you, mum.”
"They are the words I will always treasure. I'm glad I saw her when I did," Janis said. Regarding her death, the mother also stated, it was "only a matter of time" because "she seemed out of it,” during their visit.
A direct cause for Amy’s passing has yet to be determined, but it is believed that she died as a result of her battle with drugs. The autopsy performed has come back inconclusive, according to the Associated Press and it could be a couple of more weeks until a direct cause is determined. A memorial service for Winehouse is being held in London and tribute to the British-bred star will air tomorrow on MTV.
