VH1 Commands A Second Season For “Single Ladies”

Single Ladies -VH1

Single Ladies fans, you’re in for a treat. Set your DVR and prepare to delve even deeper into the lives of your favorite characters because VH1 has just renewed the highly-rated primetime series for another season.

Making it’s debut this past May, the Queen Latifah-produced original series starring Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy and Charity Shea met with much criticism in the beginning. Slated as the “black Sex & The City“, there was much speculation about whether or not the series would live up to it’s hype or survive past the first few episodes.

Despite the backlash, according to Variety, the show has managed to average nearly 2.8 millions viewers per episode.

Production on season two of Single Ladies is slated to begin this fall, with new shows airing in 2012.
