5 Actresses Who Could Replace Stacey Dash on Single Ladies
When rumors hit the web that Stacey Dash had been fired from VH1’s hit scripted show, Single Ladies, we couldn’t help but be devastated. With her beauty, style and penchant for romance, Stacey made the show’s main character, Val, come alive.
If they have to replace Dash as the star of the show, there are a few actresses in Black Hollywood who could nail Val’s character to a tee.
Here are our top five:
Few actresses can master the art of being strong and sensitive, mature and naïve, sophisticated and quirky like Gabrielle Union. She was relatable and charming in romantic comedies like Deliver Us From Eva and Daddy’s Little Girls and we think she can bring that energy to Single Ladies.
The ‘It Girl’ that has had reoccurring roles on Gossip Girl and The Game is ready for her first starring role, in our opinion. She has the beauty, the sophisticated attitude, fashion sense and the rare ability to laugh at herself that will make her shine as Val on the Vh1 show.
There’s already a rumor that Kelly Rowland will replace Stacey Dash---and we’re not mad at it. Kelly certainly is gorgeous enough and she’s also a hopeless romantic, which makes her perfect for the role.
Though she’s already appeared on the show briefly, Lauren would be great as the lead! Not only is she lovable and charming, but she can display the sensitivity necessary to make you empathize with her character’s struggles with love.
Nia Long is a no-brainer for the role of Val as she’s the quintessential girl next door. We could totally picture Nia owning her own business, shutting down suitors who don’t, ahem, return the favor and giving maneater Keisha Green (Lisa Raye) sound advice.
