In an exclusive interview with UPTOWN, reality star of VH1's Basketball Wives, Meeka Claxton, dishes the deets on her pending lawsuit against Tami Roman, claiming all proceeds will go to charity. She also chats about why she won't allow her children to watch the show, her regrets about judging castmate Royce when she's the realest of the crew and plans for upcoming projects like a clothing line, jewelry & more
On Being a Businesswoman
"My mother always instilled in me the importance of being independent outside of whoever you're with..."
"No one can ever throw anything in my face like 'You're nothing! You're not doing anything!' I've heard those horror stories before and that's what keeps me on my toes. I'm always going to have my own going on."
On The Lawsuit
"I never respond to negativity on Twitter, but I do see a lot of people saying things like 'Why are you doing this? Is it because you're broke?' This has nothing to do with money ' it's all about the lesson."
"And if I do win the lawsuit, all the proceeds will be going to charity. It's not about the money, it's about teaching young women a lesson that when you do things like that, nothing good comes of it."
"I would say that I wish I gave Royce more of a chance in the beginning. Right now I think she's actually one of the realest people there. And it's so funny because I came in there with all these hesitations about meeting her. She's the only one I was hesitant about and she.s actually the person I like the most!"
