Dorothy Williams Wants You To Live in a World of Cowboys and Robots

Dorothy Williams just popped on my radar with her Fall 2011 Collection for her line Luminaa inspired by “The Dark Tower,” a spaced aged western novel by Stephen King. Dorothy created Luminaa in 2008. When she was just a student at Texas Woman’s University, she designed and sewed a gown for a relative of President Clinton to wear at his inaugural ball 1997. She furthered her craft by studying at the Paris Fashion Institute after graduating from Texas Woman’s University with a degree in Fashion Design. Then she studied Museum Studies: Costume & Textiles at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1998.

She went on to work as a Technical Designer for various companies, where she learned the importance of comfort and fit. “Comfort is the foundation of our garments along with the ability for the pieces to work with any existing outfit the customer may already have in her closet.”

Take a look at Dorothy’s Fall 2011/Spring 2012 Lookbooks, Vixens. Do you see anything that you want to add to your closet?
