Drake Has No Apologies For Making 'Emotional' Music
Drake has never been one to hide his emotions, (Haven’t we all heard "Marvin’s Room"?) so it wasn’t a surprise when he openly admitted that Rihanna played with his emotions when he thought their fling was more than what it really was.
The "Successful" rapper has become quite the butt of many jokes, but Drake doesn’t seem to mind the wise cracks. He spoke with MTV recently about he feelings about the whispers.
"If I worried about how I’m gonna look saying this, then I wouldn’t make half the music I make. People nitpick at me for being emotional or tapping into my emotions, but like, man, we all die one day; that’s just how I want to be remembered," Drake told MTV News.
"The running commentary or the jokes don’t really affect me, cause that’s what I’m going for. I don’t want to be a guy that blends in with all the other generic rap music," he continued. "I want to be the guy that stood out and pinpointed life emotions for women, men, young people, old people or whatever it is. So I don’t trip, that’s what I want. I welcome it."
In 2009, it was rumored that Drake and Rihanna were dating after a few photos of them canoolding surfaced. The T.O. born and bred singer/rapper opened up to Elle earlier this month, explaining, "At the time it hurt, but she didn't mean to," Drizzy said. "I'll never put that on her. I was hurt because I slowly started to realize what it was. I guess I thought it was more."
No matter how you feel about Drake, at least he stands behind his emotions and gives no apologies. He also gets bonus points for not wanting to be just another stereotypical rapper. --Brittny Pierre
