3 Things We Hope To Learn in R. Kelly's New Memoir, Soula Coaster: The Diary of Me
R. Kelly will soon be releasing a memoir entitled Soula Coaster: The Diary of Me with co-author David Ritz. While the title of the book is quite strange, perhaps it’s an indication that Robert will be taking us on the ride of our lives as he touches upon the most scandalous and intimate moments of his life both at home and in the public eye.
It already seems that we can already expect a truckload of drama with the release of this memoir. Soulacoaster, which was originally set for release on November 15, 2011, has been pushed back for an early Spring 2012 release. So far there hasn’t been any indication for the sudden change. But here’s what we do know about the memoir:
“In Soula Coaster: The Diary of Me, Kelly reveals his hard-won ascent to superstardom and his battle to move forward after legal and personal ordeals that threatened to destroy his life. Now back at the top, Kelly recounts the surprising twists and turns that have taken him to new heights of maturity and artistry. Part memoir, part keepsake, Soulacoaster unlocks the door to R. Kelly''s story as only he can tell it, promising his fans an intimate and unforgettable ride”
Here are 3 things we hope to learn from Soula Coaster
1. The real relationship he had with Aaliyah and how he coped with her death.
Even a decade after Aaliyah’s death, we are still curious as to what the real deal was between these two stars. Everyone has seen the marriage license and heard numerous rumors but we’d like for him to set the record straight once and for all.
2. The inspiration behind the "Trapped in a Closet” saga.
At first “Trapped in a Closet” was slightly amusing, but a couple of chapters in, it all became a crazy, soap-opera ready, made for Jerry Springer saga (wasn't there a midget?). 24 chapters? I mean, really.
3. The effect his legal battle had on his personal life and family.
Over the past 20+ years, we’ve seen R. Kelly develop as the King of R&B and when he was at a pivotal point in his career, he was caught up in an unforgettable scandal surrounding that infamous tape. How did that impact his career, his image in the public eye and his relationship with family?
Will you pick up Soula Coaster: The Diary of Me by R. Kelly when it's released in Spring 2012?
