Behind the Beat Down at McDonald’s – What Would You Do?

Author Demetria Lucas assesses the Rayon McIntosh case:

“I was being attacked by aggressive people I didn’t know,” said McIntosh. “I was just defending myself. They came in and went crazy on me.”

He was jailed on assault and weapons charges. The women, one of whom suffered a fractured skull, a broken arm, and remains hospitalized, were charged with criminal trespassing, menacing and disorderly conduct.

I get the argument that he’s a man who viciously beat two women, persons of the smaller, physically weaker sex. Every part of my woman-power mantra wants me to shout, “He is wrong! Wrong! Wrong!” But everything in my common sense, asks, “What did you want that man to do?”

If anyone— male or female— has the cajones (I’m saying, she told him to ‘suck her d***!’) to threaten someone, slap them, and then hop a counter to get at them, you get whatever it is they feel like giving back that day. You can’t be an instigator of violence, then dictate how someone responds to your violence. Life isn’t fair. Fighting isn’t either.

Did he go overboard? Perhaps. Read more over at UPTOWN.
