Jay-Z Sells Occupy Wall Street Shirts, Proceeds Won't Go To The Cause
Jay-Z's clothing line, Rocawear, is selling a shirt inspired by the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations going on across the country. The black t-shirt has the phrase, "Occupy Wall Street" on it with the "W" scratched out and an "S" to make the phrase read, "Occupy All Streets."
So nice of Jay to be down with the cause, right? Not. The profits from this shirt will not benefit the Occupy Wall Street movement. A Rocawear spokesperson issues this statement today:
"The "Occupy All Streets" T shirt was created in support of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement. Rocawear strongly encourages all forms of constructive expression, whether it be artistic, political or social. "Occupy All Streets" is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street. At this time we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement."
Thoughts, Vixens? Insensitive or just creating social awareness?
