Vixen Date Guide: Where to Style + Profile with Your Girlfriends
Short on a date this weekend? Who says you need a guy to have a great night?! This weekend, get your hair done, step into your flyest fall booties, grab a couple of your best girlfriends and have a ball painting the town red (or pink, whichever you prefer). New York City has tons upon tons of options and outings for you and your fellow Vixens. Venture out from your favorite local spots to try something new. Whether you're into dining out, shopping 'til you drop or pampering yourself after a long work/school week, there is literally something for everyone! Here's a list of cute spots in the NYC that are just dying for a visit from you and your cute friends!
Hands down, this is one of the best brunch spots in the city! This Latin restaurant is located in the Excelsior Hotel on the Upper West Side. The prices are super reasonable ($14- $28 for brunch), and did I mention the assorted unlimited complimentary sangria?
The Polish Bar
What's cuter than mani- pedis with your girlfriends? The Polish Bar is stacked with more colors than you can imagine, and they also offer services like brow shaping, waxing, sugaring, makeup and lash application, and even private parties! Head on over to Brooklyn and turn your swag on, Vixens!
Owned by Tionna Smalls of What Chilli Wants fame, Lovey's is also located in Brooklyn and sells some of the flyyest jewelry, handbags, scarves and sunglasses in the city! And Lovey's was also featured in Monday night's episode of Love & Hip Hop. Who knows, maybe you'll run into your fave reality TV star!
The Beauty Bar
Okay, who is the genius who came up with the idea to combine music, manicures and martinis? (S)he deserves a medal! The Beauty Bar is located in-- you guessed it-- Brooklyn and is the only place I know of in the city where you can pay $10 and get a mani and a martini. My kinda party.
The Village Underground
Food, a live band, and the cool vibe of Manhattan at night make The Village Underground the perfect after-hours spot after a long day of shopping and primping with your girlfriends. I recommend visiting on Sunday nights, which is when they host open mic. If you don't mind being tired at work the next morning, it's totally worth!
