Fashion Alert: Pantone Declares "Tangerine Tango" the Color of 2012
No, it's not orange. This particular hue that stems (in our opinion) from the reddish-orange family has appeared in collections by Tommy Hilfiger and has been declared the color of next year by the color authority, Pantone.
In a statement, executive director Leatrice Eiseman says:
"Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy."
In more news with the color titan, Pantone is teaming with beauty retailer Sephora to create a limited-edition collection inspired by Tangerine Tango. The Universe collection will include will include nail color, eye shadow, lipstick, lip gloss and accessories.
A lead artist for Sephora Pro says, "Whether she is looking to create a bold look featuring Tangerine Tango, or if demure trend expression is more her style, the collection allows for customized wearability."
Whether in beauty of fashion, do you think you'll incorporate the shade into your look next year?
