AMC Gears up For 'Goodfellas' TV Show
AMC may be adding Goodfellas to its TV show line up. Deadline reports that the cable network, already home to shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad, has put a series version of Goodfellas into development.
The 1990 Martin Scorsese mob classic, which starred Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro and Ray Liotta, follows the rise and fall of the Lucchese crime family associate Henry Hill (Liotta) and his friends from 1955 to 1980. It's based on a non-fiction book entitled Wiseguy. The movie was nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture and director, and won one, for best supporting actor (Pesci).
The idea of turning Goodfellas into a series with Pileggi and Irwin Winkler on board has been in talks for a while. So far, AMC hasn't dissapointed with any of its shows so we're sure this is going to be good.
