White Lines: Fashion Collections That We Love
Have you overheard someone claim that you or a friend "dresses white"? What exactly is the requirement for such a thing? Now, don't get it twisted. We love our Black fashion designers! (Word to Sammy B!) However, in an attempt to abolish ignorant phrases like "dressing white," "dressing black," and the like, VV has compiled a list of fashion collections by white women that we actually love.
Yes, we're well aware of the struggles Black designers have in the industry, but we've seen several designers bridge the gap--Vanessa and Angela Simmons, Tracy Reese, Rachel Roy, Kimora Lee and Maya Lake.
Don't look at the color of the designer, look at the clothes!
Nicole Richie - Winter Kate
This line is boho chic and incredibly comfy. Light and airy is what her spring collection is all about. Throw in her accessory line House of Harlow, and you've got the perfect outfit for the warm months.
Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen - The Row, Elizabeth & James
These two tycoons kind of created the classic, yet boho chic look. Executing it perfectly in fashion, MK & Ash created a line that's easy to wear. The price tag? Not so easy, but what can you expect from high fashion? Also, check out their Elizabeth & James collection for the more ready-to-wear pieces.
Whitney Port - Whitney Eve
The former star of The City is super sweet and so is her collection. It's full of bold prints, fitted dresses and threads that you can worn casually. Her line is clean, yet fun and flexible. If you don't think this line is a win, you may need to take a second look!
Charlotte Ronson - Charlotte Ronson
This line targets the youthful and fun nature of our generation while capturing the femininity of a woman. It's also a risky collection. You definitely have to be confident to wear some of the see-through, look-at-me pieces.
