Backstage Beauty Pass: NYFW Houghton Fall 2012 Show
New York Fashion Week (NYFW) kicked off yesterday in full swing, and we were lucky to go behind the scenes with our exclusive backstage beauty pass. We caught an inside look on how the Houghton Fall 2012 Show models prep to hit the runway. Designer Katharine Polk designed an all white collection, resulting in simplistic, goddess-like hair and makeup with pops of color! See how it all goes down below...
The hair was created courtesy of L’Oréal Professionnel. Lead hairstylist Laura Polko crafted three different looks of romantic curls parted on the side, loose curls that are down or twisted into a low bun.
The inspiration behind the hair came from the collection's lookbook, where it started out as simple, then got a little funky and inspired by rock-n-roll. Using L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium 2 (regular hold spray), Densité (thickening primer), Lumi Contrôle (modelling nutri-wax) and Mousse Volupté (magnifying mousse), the romantic curls were created with ease.
Courtesy of Makeup Forever, the models were given simple looks with a pop of red color on the eyes and lip. That just made the look have additional glamour.
