Justin Bieber fans can expect a different side of his story to be told: his mother, Pattie Mallette, the woman responsible for the international pop sensation, is bringing her word to the world through a new tell-all memoir.

According to Billboard, Mallette has inked a deal with Christian book publisher Revell to release a book on her difficult upbringing tainted by substance abuse, violence and a suicide attempt at 17. She discusses how her pregnancy with Biebs changed her life for the better.

“Pattie’s story is a powerful example of courage and determination that will inspire anyone who has faced struggles in life,” Revell editorial director Jennifer Leep said in a statement. “She’s living proof that even in the darkest of places, there is always room for hope.”

The uplifting memoir will be released in September, the same month her son’s second photo book Justin Bieber: Just Getting Started will hit shelves. The pop star is also prepping his next album Believe, which is set to drop later this year.

An advocate for women’s rights, Mallette also plans to donate a portion her book’s proceeds to charities helping troubled women.

“I want them to see that no matter how desperate their circumstances may be, they can have hope for a better future,” said Mallette. –Adelle Platon
