Rita Ora Gives Men Style Advice, Mentions Blue Ivy
Rita Ora has been buzzing heavily since dropping "Party & Bullshit" off at Z100. The blonde-haired UK bombshell recently sat with GQ.com (UK) "beneath blonde locks and wearing bright red lipstick and a tight dress" to discuss her current climb to celebrity. Touching on everything from her familial connection to the Roc Nation family to her key advice for men's style, Ora is finally ready to take her rightful place on the Billboard charts.
When asked about Jay-Z as a boss, she says, "He's a great mentor, a great boss and so is his wife. There's not a lot of people on Roc Nation so the few that are genuinely get time spent on their project. It's like a family, well especially now with Blue Ivy - although she just chills: eats, sleeps, wakes up, eats, sleeps."
Rita isn't exactly new the the Roc Nation familia. She's been on ice for about three years, being groomed for artistry and not just a one-hit wonder run.
" Jay-Z taught me a lot about patience as an artist. I was itching. When I was 18 I thought it was all going to happen so quickly - I just thought next week I'd be on Oprah!"
Now, the red lipstick-lover is beginning to soar, scoring a number one hit with "Hot Right Now" and garnering a buzz with Drake-penned, Tinie Tempah-assisted record "R.I.P." Beyond the catchy music, what does the 21-year-old know about fashion? Already a recognized stylista across The Pond, Ora has been spotted front row at several London Fashion Week shows, including Vivenne Westwood. Her kickass and comfy threads from well-known designers have warranted her spots in Vogue's dot com daily column and Japan glossy, as well as a cK One campaign. Her thoughts on men's style?
"The worst thing is when a guy just looks awkward," she tells the dot com. "It's not attractive. A guy has a certain power anyway just by being a different sex, so all you have to do is just be comfortable."
If you're looking to keep up with the rising Brit, make plans to attend a Coldplay concert.
"They heard my tracks and then "Hot Right Now" went to number one," she gushes. "I've met them a few times over the last few years so they asked me to be on the tour. I'm over the moon - they play huge arenas and I can't wait to finally do it!"
