Justin Bieber Admits to Being a Victim of Bullying
It’s hard to imagine Justin Bieber having problems other than carving out a side rap career or dodging girls and paparazzi.
But in a new interview with Showbiz Tonight, the 18-year-old heartthrob admits that he was a victim of bullying. The “Boyfriend” singer explained: "Most people in their lifetime have been bullied at some point. I think that it's about time that people start making a change."
His confession syncs perfectly with the March 30 release of the documentary Bully, which highlights the bullying crisis in America. Bieber lent his vocals to the film's uplifting theme “Born To Be Somebody.” The movie, set for re-release on April 13, recently changed its rating to PG-13 to reach a younger audience.
“A lot of the time, principals let it go, or teachers let it go, or other students just let it go,” Bieber added, encouraging bystanders and those experiencing it to speak up. “But I think this movie's really powerful and can help change a lot of lives."
